Tea across the Multiverse at enchanted etchings

welcome to the blog!

Hello there! I feel like it’s traditional to begin a blog with a “meet the writer” post, so bear with me while I stick to the tradition. I’m Lalíe and I’ll be your host here at the blog!

My main job in life right now is a stay at home mom to two little ones, including homeschooling our pre-schooler. I live with them and my husband in Albuquerque, New Mexico, although I was born and raised in a suburb of Houston, Texas, and my family has strong roots in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Here at Enchanted Etchings, you can find me designing products, maintaining the website, and helping with the social media accounts. & now of course, writing the blog (& maybe an eventual podcast?) I do love wearing many hats!

Away from work and kids, I’m most likely knitting and binge watching something. I’m a pretty big geek, both in what I knit and in what I watch. At a knitting guild meeting, I was once asked if I ever “knit anything normal.” I still don’t know what she meant by that, but I assume she meant nothing related to a movie, TV show, or comic book. And I’m proud to say that the answer is still pretty much no, unless it’s a special request for someone else. But if it’s for me, it’s pretty much going to be geeky or nothing at all.

I also enjoy baking, reading, writing (obviously), and going to comic cons. I have a goal to meet at least one person from all of my fandoms, and I was getting pretty successful at it, pre-plague, although I am still missing a few (please, anyone from BBC Sherlock, come to the US!)

about the blog

This blog (and maybe podcast by the time you’re reading this…but also maybe not), will most likely be an amalgamation of a few different things:

^

What I'm knitting

^

What tea I'm drinking

^

What I'm watching & reading while i'm knitting & drinking tea

^

what other random things I'm doing

^

what TKGA program i'm working on

I like being weird. weird’s all I’ve got. that & my sweet style.

In a former life, I taught music at an elementary school, and I still teach online writing classes at a private university. I have a bachelor’s degree in music, and a Master’s degree in English literature. I have been a teacher in some form or another since high school. While I don’t miss teaching at a public school, I do miss teaching. One of my knitting goals in life is to become a TKGA Master Knitter and a Certified Knitting Instructor. I plan to document my trials and tribulations through all of it (and my other travels in the geek & knitting multiverse) here. Hopefully it will help to keep me accountable in reaching my goals, if I write it down and have to keep telling people that I didn’t make progress, it’ll make me feel guilty so I will actually have to make progress so I don’t feel guilty. At least, that’s the way I’ve planned it out and want to it work.

So anyway, there’s lots more to come, and I hope you enjoy your stay! Check out our shop and find some laser engraved gifts for yourself or your loved ones and enjoy my ramblings along the way!
